The Siemens 3RT2946-1CD00 is an RC element (surge
suppressor module) designed for use with SIRIUS 3RT2 contactors (size
S3). It is used to protect contactor coils from switching voltage spikes
and electrical surges, improving reliability and extending the life of the
control circuit components.
This RC suppressor is connected across the AC control
coil (127–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz) and helps to reduce electromagnetic
interference (EMI) and suppress voltage transients generated when the
contactor coil is switched OFF. It is widely used in industrial control
panels, motor control centers (MCC), HVAC systems, and automation panels.
